Peak Baggin’

I have always loved the outdoors. Once I got some cash, I found I loved traveling as well.

Hiking. Rock Climbing. Camping. Kayaking. New cities. New countries. New languages. New food. Local beers.

I have had the pleasure of visiting a lot of places over the past several years. I will flash back to some of those occasionally and write some posts (mainly so I don’t forget myself) about them as well; but I will mostly write about my travels as they occur.

This summer (2015), I started doing some serious hiking for the first time in a few years and I caught the bug. It started with a second trip to Banff National Park. Then a last minute trip to Europe. Why stop there? Washington/Oregon followed 12 hours later. Then a fall stint in the Utah/Arizona National Parks. It all ended with some serious travel ambitions. To fill my “places I’ve been” map with lots of red pins. “I haven’t been everywhere, but its on my list”.

Having caught the travel bug in the most serious possible form, I have a number of other travel-related ambitions over the coming months and years. I can be a little impulsive so I quickly settled on a new goal; to summit the highest points in all 50 states in the US before turning 40 years old in March, 2022.

This blog will chronicle these and other adventures and hopefully provide useful information to others that may follow the same paths as have I. I will try to mention some gear recommendations, trail info, and other helpful tips along the way, and will likely create some separate pages with said info.

Welcome to the journey. I hope it encourages you to get outdoors and go.

    1. Green are national parks/hikes. Blue are state high points. Gray was my trip out west when I graduated college. Purple was my 2015 Europe Trip. Red is previous overseas. And orange is cities I have visited.

  1. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog posts and found useful information for my own travels. I don’t know why you stopped blogging, but I hope you are okay and still pursuing all your adventures!

    1. Thanks Heather! I haven’t written much in a while but plan to get back at it soon. I have been doing a lot of MTB riding, skiing, and a van conversion so things are busy. Hopefully I will have some more fun adventures to share in the near future. I am really glad to hear this was helpful info for you!
