It’s ski season! Atlanta has been loaded with rain (take a look at what our dock at the lake looks like right now) but fortunately I’ve spent few hours there. Most of the winter was spent strapped to skis, blasting down fluffy powder slopes, and relaxing in hot tubs.

Whistler Blackcomb
Stop one was beautiful Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Canada. This was my third visit, and when it comes to powder, the third time was a charm. I was greeted with 8 inches of fresh powder and a blue bird day (clear blue skies) on day one! The skiing got worse over the week, but is there any other possibility when the first day is simply the best?

Whitefish, MT
Whitefish was the next stop and the location of the annual Chambers men’s family ski trip (plus Glenn). I put together a quick video to recap the trip.
Lake Tahoe
Next up was Lake Tahoe with some friends from work prior to our annual corporate seminar. We skied the first day at Alpine Meadows. They got 7 feet of snow a few days before we arrived, so we had a great base. The best day was the second though. We skied Northstar. Overnight we got 8 inches of snow. And it snowed while we were there. All day. Another foot. Fresh tracks galore.

We kept getting snow, with several more feet coming overnight.

We had an adventure getting out, including Georgians and Winsconsonians (is that a thing?) partnering to shovel the driveway, dig out the car (after it got stuck), and pack down a trail to drive on.
An hour and a hitch-hiker later, we made it to the airport for our flight in plenty of time. And were delayed for maintenance. For 6 hours. My first (and probably last) Southwest flight. Thanks guys!
But we made it eventually, and that’s all that matters. Its not though, because what really matters is it was a great winter of skiing with friends and family.
Cheers!
