Today I was back on the road to visit the highest point in Arkansas: Mount Magazine. I wish I could tell you some facts about Magazine Mountain but I don’t know very many. Here is what I do know… There were no magazines available at the mountain, so there may be opportunities for class action lawsuits against them. It was a long drive to get there from Memphis. The highest point is actually called “Signal Hill”. The mountain is 2,753 feet high. If you put “Magazine Mountain” in google maps it takes you to just the right place. There are no bathrooms at the trailhead.

Unfortunately, I had more driving to do so my visit to the Arkansas high point was a short one with a short hike on a short trail.

No particular gear is needed for the hike, which is barely up-hill at all.

The trail is – as I mentioned – very short. It was a round trip of .8 miles.
