I have been reading Bill Bryson’s “Walk in the Woods”, which is about his experience hiking a large portion of the Appalachian Trail. During the chapter about New Hampshire, Bryson emphatically and accurately describes the wonders of the terrible weather of Mt. Washington.
Bryson says that they used to (and may still-but this was written in 1996) show the following video inside one of the buildings at the top of the mountain. When I was there, I could see about 15 feet at the summit so I am not sure if this building he refers to is even there. Either way, I thought it was worth posting.
My next high point should be Mt. Hood of Oregon next week, if the weather cooperates. Until then, enjoy!
